I was the art department assistant and on-set dresser for this short film on the experiences of black people with locs.

Previous to filming, the Set Sisters came up with a concept and provided the material. I worked with the venue and our cinematographer to organise the flats and the space itself.

On the day of shooting, I dressed the set and was on standby throughout the day to re dress when needed.

As part of their Christmas run, I designed and installed the midnight bloom theme in OXO2.

The brief was to design a bar, theme the two spaces and to provide furniture and table centres. I then worked with a set building company to build and install the bar while I sourced the rest of the theming and furniture.

An interactive networking event for high end clients to showcase each of the hotels with the ‘Distinction Palace’ label. Client did not want a traditional networking set up and wanted to make it more of an experience and journey for guests.

Guests are greeted by a ‘concierge’ on entry to the venue who hands them a ‘key card’ with the information of the first hotel printed on it. Guests can then make their way to that hotel’s stand where they learn more information and get the key to the next hotel and so on.

The event is spread over several floors and a floor plan of the venue is displayed on each floor if the guests would prefer to go to a specific hotel.

Each stand is made to look like the front door of each hotel and more information and the hotel’s name is displayed on the wall next to it.

Designed for the Old Billingsgate summer and Christmas runs for 2020 and 2021 which were put on hold due to Covid-19.

Every summer and winter, Old Billingsgate themes their venue and hosts a variety of events during these runs. For the upcoming four seasons, my client wanted something simple and clean similar to a boutique hotel in a black and gold colour scheme which could also be easily branded if needed.

We also decided to remove the soft seating that usually sits in the centre of the space and replace them with poseur tables and stools which are easier to move if an event didn’t call for them.

St. George’s Day family event at Borough Market.

Both faux and real roses were used to dress pillars and gates throughout the market. The main space had a giant chandelier installed that was made of roses, ribbons and pom poms.

Carfest celebrates all sorts of cars from sport to vintage and raises money for Children in Need.

I was brought on to help style the many areas they have at both their North and South festivals. These were interesting projects for me as I got the chance to work on a large festival install and the styling lasted over several days. I became accustomed to last minute changes, working to a tight schedule and working in adverse weather conditions.

A concept brand activation for Barking Heads, one of the sponsors of the dog-friendly Standon Calling Festival, which was put on hold due to Covid-19.

Designed to look like a rustic food truck or market stall with food dispensers to hold the dog food. The structure included a lockable back section to be used for storage of the products.

Initial ideas also included a purpose built bar, stage and pool for the dogs to mimic the larger festival.

An apothecary acting as a front for a speakeasy in the Skyloft.

Guests were welcomed by a shop clerk who led them into the back room behind the shop desk. This space was dressed with bottles and beer jugs and guests were greeted by a shady accountant who pushed them through to the main space speakeasy lounge where the guests remained.

Once all the guests were in the main space, we changed the apothecary and back room into a green room for the actors.

The install time was very tight to install the three spaces, about 2 hours and we had about 30 minutes to do the turnaround.

A Narnia themed Christmas party in Landing 42.

Client wanted their guests to enter the space through a wardrobe and to have a few theming clusters in the space along with table centres for the long dining table.

I worked with a florist to create the table centres and hired most of the larger set pieces before styling them. The space is very long and narrow so I had to be mindful of where I placed the theming to leave space for guests to move around and to use the dance floor.

Proposal to transform Exhibition London into The Greatest Showman theme. Client didn’t want the design to be too ‘circus-y’ and to fall more on the ‘illusion’ side of the theme.

On entry to the ground floor, guests are greeted by a fortune teller and a balloon and pagoda umbrella photo op. There were several themed dressing clusters also dotted around this space and the existing bar was to be decorated in festoon lights. The ceiling of this floor would be draped to look like the interior of a circus tent.

Guests would then move upstairs to the dance floor and themed food stations. The existing LED screens on the stage backdrop would have relevant circus themed images played on them. The ceiling of this space would be dressed with festoon lights.

The client also asked for ideas to create a ‘wow moment’ to which I suggested having a hot air balloon suspended from the ceiling with images or patterns projection mapped onto it to carry the illusion theme through. The second idea was to have several high powered lasers rigged from above, projecting across the floor as an interesting way to light the space.

Tech event at Magazine London.

I was bought in fairly last minute to provide furniture and greenery throughout the entire building. I worked with two florists to provide approximately 100 plants around the various spaces, to create the living wall and the hanging installations.

Themed design for the Christmas run at 28 Portland Place.

Client wanted an interesting moment on entry, theming throughout the space and table centres.

The focal point in the entrance hall was a large tree I had built over the door that lead to the rest of the space. This recreated Alice’s entry into Wonderland which I then hung keys and pocket watches from. This space was also dressed with clocks, flowers and a signpost.

The event also included a photo op for guests which was themed to look like the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Exhibition stand proposal for Indie Brands who represent a number of small drinks brands.

Client wanted to steer away from anything too corporate and use natural materials. The stand needed to be able to showcase approximately 20 brands whilst also representing the company and had to be modular. The bar needed to be fully functional and include sink, speed rails, bins and ice trays and accommodate up to 4 bar staff.

I designed a number of stands before they decided on the altar theme which I then developed further and used more neutral tones and colours.

A small event held at Sessions House for journalists to talk to the partners of several French ski resorts. The concept was based around nature, green, well-being and zen but transferred into a winter setting.

The venue already had a lot of character and a lot of it’s own dressing so I bought in some extra pieces to give it more of a ‘winter wellness’ theme such as candles, throws and plants.

Additionally, the client wanted journalists to engage with the theme whilst moving around the space. We did this by dressing several pine trees at the entrance with branded baubles that contained a bingo slip with the name’s of the partners printed on them. They were handed a stamp and encouraged to talk to each partner and stamp their slip when they had done so.

I created a personalised vintage ski resort post card for each of the 19 partners which was displayed as a table centre for the journalists to find.
